Layered Florals – The Greetery

by Dawn

Hello, friends! It’s my turn to share a post for The Greetery so I’ve got a pretty pair of floral cards for you today! I had so much fun creating with Wildwood that I kind of didn’t want to stop (this seems to happen to me a lot! LOL!), so I used the Wildwood suite of products to create this pretty pair. Let me tell you all about them!

I started out with the Wildwood stencils and created this pretty patterned panel.

PRO TIP: I used these colored pencils to add additional shading to the stenciling, by adding some shading on the plain leaves, as well as shaded dots in the center of the large pink flower.

Next, I ran it thru the die cutting machine with a Crimped Frame Die, and then popped up that center portion up on foam adhesive.

PRO TIP: I tucked a piece of pink card stock behind the popped up panel, so that when you see the card from the side, you don’t just see the blank white card front underneath, but rather, a bit of pink. Sort of serves as a pretty drop shadow behind the crimped panel.

Next, I die cut a few leaves and a flower with the Wildwood Bouquet dies and added them on top of the stenciled panel for a more 3-D effect. I finished the card off with a Tear Strip Banner die cut and a sentiment from Simple Everyday Sentiments. That’s such a handy set!

Next up, I went for texture, texture, texture! I used the Wildwood Embossing Folder to emboss both of the background layers of card stock and popped the darker one up with foam adhesive.

PRO TIP: Pay attention to your embossing lines, so you can line up the two panels so the pattern continues off the front one right onto the back one! Such a cool effect!

I used the Wildwood Bouquet dies to create the flowers and leaves and then added another Tear Strip Banner with another Simple Everyday Sentiment.

I love creating cards in sets or pairs like this. It’s fun to take the same products and even the same color palette and see how you can make cards that coordinate, but aren’t the same! Kind of a fun little creative challenge! I hope I’ve inspired you to give it a try yourself! If you do, be sure to share! I’d love to see! You can tag me @dawnsing and @the_greetery so we can see what you make!

These cards are so pretty. I just bought the Wildwood die set and embossing folder yesterday so thank you for the timely inspiration!
