Hey there and welcome back for more Greetery Valentine fun! I used lots of the new goodies from this release, to make a big ole stack of gift tags and I love that each one of them is unique and different and yet, they all have a cohesive feel. Don’t they sort of make you think of a grown up version of those boxed Valentines kids get at the store? I could just see writing the to/from info on the back and swapping these with my friends, each of us tucking them into our own little Valentine box that we’d decorated with care.
Gosh, now that I’m typing all that out, I wonder if the gals in our church small group would actually want to do something like that!! 🙂 Might just have to ask them!
Let me tell you about these gift tags!

Ok, so as you can see in the photos, they’re laying on some treat bags with the clear window on the front. I think it’d be super sweet to fill these bags with some Valentine treats…..perhaps some cookies baked with freshly milled wheat (so that they’re not just tasty, but good for them, too!) and then these tags could decorate the outside of the bags. I actually did something similar for some friends for Christmas.
PRO TIP: The tags look super cute just attached to the front with a bit of washi tape!
So to make these, I started out with the new Capsule Valentine Gallery Prints. I love that they’re pre-printed tags so they’re quick and easy to cut out, but they have so much more detail than what you can get with just a stamped or stenciled image.
I die cut them with the Capsule Basics dies, as well as the smaller of the new Capsule Fixed Borders dies.

On the blue tag, I stamped a border with the new Capsule Collection Valentine Borders stamp set.
PRO TIP: Use hearts on stems instead of flowers! Pull out whatever dies or stamps you have with stems or leaves, and top them with die cut hearts from the new Whole Hearted Die instead of the blooms that go with whatever stems you’re using! In this case, I used stems from the Botanicuts Wildflower die set, and topped them with leftover hearts that I made with the Whole Hearted die and Coquette Hearts embossing folder. Such a sweet little Valentine twist on flowers!

PRO TIP: Mix and match and just have FUN! I added bits of this and that to each of the tags….I used little leftovers that were laying on my desk. Nothing has to “match” but it all coordinates when you limit your color palette to pinks and reds and kraft, so it all ends up feeling like a really lovely little set.
BONUS: These would be so cute to tuck in a little treat bag or box and give as a gift! Who wouldn’t love to have these to use for their own gift-giving needs?

Next up is another card for my man. Who says you only need one card for your guy? Why not give him a few during Valentine week? Tuck one in his car or leave one by his sink…..little surprise notes left here and there for him to find, to let him know you’re thinking about him!
For this one, I used the new Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts embossing folder and die.
PRO TIP: Remember that just because the die and folder might be designed to work for larger cards, you can always cut them down to suit your needs! This one has a really pretty scalloped detail on the top and bottom, as well as the sides. You could orient the panel any way you’d like, to highlight just one of those sides like I did for the bottom here.

I used one of the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Labels to anchor the sentiment so it isn’t just floating on the card front.
The sentiment was created with the new French Kiss stamps and dies and the bow is part of the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts die set.

Lastly for today, I used the other new shortbread set to create a birthday card. Many of these items can be used for more than just Valentine cards!
I used the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Hearts embossing folder to emboss two panels of card stock. The lighter one, I cut out with the new Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition dies, and then added the coordinating stamped border on top.
I topped it with a bow from the same Sweetest Frames set and added sentiment components with an All Kinds of Happy stamp and die.

PRO TIP: Be sure to cut your top layer from the center of your embossed panel and then use the dotted lines on both layers to line it up so that it looks like one continuous pattern! It’s little details like that one, that will make your card look more polished and professional!
