The Autumn Edit: From The Greetery

by Dawn

Hello, friends! Thanks for joining me for Day 2 of new product introductions featuring The Greetery‘s new Autumn Edit collection! I am excited to show you what I made!

For this first card, I used the new Shortbread Shapes Autumn embossing folder to create the pretty purple embossed panel, and then to change it up a bit, I die cut it with a Capsule Basics Die, and then layered on a Capsule Filigree Borders die cut from rose gold card stock. I used a piece of woodgrain card stock for the background (love that big knot in the wood pattern on the bottom left!) and then layered a Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Label die cut over the top. The sentiment is from the new Simple Autumn Sentiments stamp set.

Then, I got busy with the Wildwood dies and created a pretty floral spray to accent the embossed Shortbread Shapes: Autumn panel. I LOVE purple and brown together!

PRO TIP: Throw the color rules out the window for cards like this one! Brown leaves with cream accents? YES! Sparkling rose gold glitter “greenery”? Yes! Leaves don’t always have to be GREEN!! 😉

Next up, I used the new Bitty Autumn Botanicals stamp and stencil to create this background panel.

PRO TIP: Have fun with blending unexpected colors together on the pumpkins, leaves and gourds! I mixed purples and oranges on several of these, for a really pretty effect.

I added the scallops with an A2 Stitched Scallop die, and the sentiments are from Scripted Sentiments.

Lastly, I added an accent with the new Bigger Autumn Botanicals Mums die.

PRO TIP: Remember, you can cut your die cuts apart and rearrange them to suit your design needs! In this case, I needed less florals, so I cut them apart and put them where I needed them!

Last one for today…..this one features more of the Bigger Autumn Botanicals dies. Here, I used the new Pumpkin 1, Pumpkin 2 and Bottle Gourd dies.

PRO TIP: Make those pumpkins and gourds more realistic by adding some ink blending! We love to buy the Cinderella pumpkins in the Fall, that are bright pinky-orange and they often have beautiful green spots on them, so that’s what I did with my die cut pumpkins!

For that pretty embossed background, I used the new Wildwood embossing folder again…..so versatile! I layered a strip of woodgrain card stock at the bottom and then piled on the pumpkins and gourds. Makes me think of a pumpkin patch with all the pumpkins piled on sheets of plywood!

The sentiment is one more from the new Simple Autumn Mini Sentiments set.

Thank you for sharing your three cards showing “FALL” in a more non-traditional color pallet. I am a purple loving gal so I was drawn to your first two cards but that third one is absolutely beautiful. Move over traditional fall colors, there’s a new color in town and it’s named PINK.

Thanks for your kind words, Ginger! I appreciate you! I don’t often gravitate to earth tones, so for Fall, I’m usually going to try to work some pink or purple in there somewhere!! Haha!
